16 Days of Activism | Rose Campaign 2019
This year we launched for the first time the Rose Campaign in Sault Ste. Marie.
16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a time to take action to end violence against women and girls around the world.
When we first began this campaign, Women In Crisis with the support of Superior Media set out with one goal – To shine the light on 16 incredible women in our community who are dedicated to ending violence against women while honouring the memory of the 14 women who lost their lives on Dec. 6, 1989 and for all women who have died or endured gender based violence.
Our hope was that by shining the light on these women, a flame would be ignited in each individual watching to follow their lead.
Although the 16 days of activism has concluded for this year, the work is not done. Each on of you plays a vital role in the work to end gender based violence. As we conclude the Rose Campaign, we pass the torch onto you.
