Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 2018

THANK YOU FOR ALL WHO PARTICIPATED IN WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® 2018

At the Sault’s very 1st Walk a Mile event, nearly 185 people stepped up in high heels (and other fun footwear!) on May 26 starting from the steps of City Hall along the Hub Path on St. Mary’s River to help families walk away from domestic violence. Additionally, over 750 individuals came out to show their support of the work we do, and to join their voices with all the Walkers #EndVAW.

We surpassed all our expectations for this first year for a final total of over $50,000 that will have a tremendous impact on Sault Ste. Marie and our domestic violence prevention and awareness programs at Women In Crisis.

Because of you, a child in our city doesn’t need to go to bed tonight in fear. Because of you, more families can take the first steps towards healing. Because of you, young people are learning about domestic violence, and the cycle of abuse can be broken.

Thank you.
